ABOUT
This course will teach you the entire process of creating environmental concept art from start to finish in a Game studio. The course covers strategic mindset and ideation, tools and techniques (3D & 2D) that help you create a holistic set of art directions to create finished concept pieces. REQUIREMENT:
Basic Photoshop + Drawing skills
- understanding of forms & 3D shapes
- understanding perspectiveUnderstand basic terminology & tools like moving, UV mapping, basic modelling, & basic idea of modifiers in Blender.
(We will not be covering the basic controls & navigation of Blender, only the plug-ins.)While technically not necessary, as there are workarounds in vanilla blender, the course will heavily use these addons:
- quickshape
- quickcurve
- quickdeform
Course Instructor:
Siraj Fakhri, has been working in the game industry for 4 years as a Concept Artist, with experience in helping develop in-house projects and multiple AAA title games. He is also the key person to help spread the gospel of integrating blender into concept design workflow without being restricted by common technical issues.
