ABOUT
This course will cover prop design for the games/film industry with a high 3D workflow in Blender. There will be lectures on design principles, concise ideation and research, world-building, optimised workflows for 3D to 2D, as well as building a strong portfolio for a freelance career, self-branding and marketing. A strong emphasis will be placed on bringing out each student’s individual strengths and ideas and feedback will be in-depth with overpaints, extra reference and tailored advice to ensure the strongest end result.

Practical steps to create Art direction and brief to elevate your ideas pitching for clients.
Ability to extract key information from references onto your design.
Ability to create aesthetically pleasing shapes in concept art objectively.
Tools to help increase speed efficiency without the worries of software technical issues.
Optimize your workflow Integration between Blender & Photoshop.
Finished project with three medium-large scale prop designs based in the same universe.
REQUIREMENT:
Basic understanding of -
- Photoshop / 2D program alternative
- Blender (eg - how to move, orbit, grab, etc)
- Zbrush (recommended but not mandatory)

Kay is a Freelance Concept Artist who has been working in industry for 5 years with clients worldwide, with experience working on AAA game titles and VFX projects. She specialises in prop design, particularly on fantasy based projects and has worked on projects for companies such as Marvel, Bandai Namco and Grinding Gear Games.
